“We consciously picked being an instrumental band because that was the best way we could communicate our art. We can pour our soul into our instruments, and people can connect with the song in a more personal way; people tell us about their own personal stories they connect with the songs, and people ascribe their own feelings onto our sounds. The art is as much part of the listener as part of us. That’s what Poetry of Sound is all about.”

Seamlessly blending diverse styles, Fragile Balance represents the expanding landscape of acoustic music. Formed in 2010 in El Paso, Texas by high school best friends Cruz Lujan and Nico Cooper, Fragile Balance boldly treads new ground, with beautiful acoustic soundscapes that showcase a wide range of emotions. At the heart of the band is their unique combination of modern post-rock atmospherics, contemporary fingerstyle acoustic experimentation and classically influenced, expressive techniques. Bringing together disparate influences, Fragile Balance create a unique palette of sonic colors for their self-dubbed brand of “post-acoustic” music.

Fragile Balance have toured nationally, and have shared the stage with acoustic legends such as Michael Chapdelaine and Antoine Dufour. Both members of the band have competed at the Candian Fingerstyle Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious fingerstyle competitions. They are also committed to using their music to serve their community through benefit concerts and events.

Fragile Balance have independently recorded and released two full-length albums; The Flow of Dreams and Seasons Change. They are in the process of releasing the Poetry of Sound single series and have plans to release another full length album in 2014.
