Several people have told me that I have the heart and soul of a true storyteller. I’m flattered by that notion and like to think my songs are well grounded in traditional folk music with enough contemporary and unique elements to help keep them fresh.
I was born in Montgomery, AL; raised in Augusta, GA; graduated from the University of Georgia; moved to Atlanta and soon began performing as a solo artist. After a fairly successful year playing solo, I expanded my act and performed with bands for the next five years. During that time, I was honored with a nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Atlanta Society of Entertainers; but was far more proud of the fact that I worked consistently and successfully as a “gigging musician” during that entire period. I put my “career” in music on hold in order to begin raising a family and to focus on my other creative endeavor, painting.
